We were looking to finish our basement. We finished one large room with a fireplace and built-in shelving, a bathroom and a smaller gym area. What impressed us the most with Bildam was that they were always on time, were very friendly and helpful with suggestions and ideas and that they kept the work site as clean as possible. Adam showed up to our first meeting on time (which other contractors did not!) and with plenty of suggestions for how to finish our space for what we needed. Their quote was comparable to others that we received and when work started, everyone was very friendly and swept the floor each night before leaving. Bill was often on site and everyone kept us involved as to schedules and choices along the way with plenty of time to make decisions. Everyone was very knowledgeable, highly skilled and incredibly helpful. We can’t say enough good things and would happily use them again. We are so pleased with the finished product.

Beautiful cedar deck built by two extremely skilled young guys who worked through horrible wet spring conditions. Their attention to detail was remarkable. They even contoured the bottom to the driveway’s uneven surface and built a privacy screen from scratch. Adam designed it, gently suggesting what could be done, and the result was so pleasing, neighbours and passers-by remarked, unsolicited, on the wonderful job. We’re enjoying it immensely.

We’d received other quotes and went, not with the cheapest, but with an instinct. Happy to say we were right. Adam and his staff are also very good to work with.

We bought our house in September, had Adam from Bildam come along for one of the 2 house visits we were allowed before taking possession in early November. I am self employed and run a business out of my house, needed a room divided to create an office for my wife. Also needed a door built and part of a stairwell walled off. Easy enough, but also needed it all done by December as I opened my office doors quickly. This is why I chose BIldam, I was told they don’t leave a job until it is done. For this reason Adam couldn’t guarantee an exact start time but was confident he could have the job done in the short time frame I had. I trusted him and he delivered. The contractors did a fabulous job, they started on schedule and finished ahead of schedule and on budget.

Needed to have an old pressure treated deck replaced. Contacted Bildam Home Improvements. Adam was so professional, knowledgeable and prompt. We had many questions and choices to select from. Adam guided us every step of the way and quickly responded to any inquires or changes we wanted to make. Adam showed us many pictures that greatly helped with our design plans.

The team of workers were amazing, professional, courtesy and able to explain and answer additional questions. We did make additional changes of adding planters boxes, and enclosing the stairs for storage space. Adam keeper us update with the cost of each change. The workmanship and details put into our deck is amazing. We are so pleased with the deck and the choices we made. It looks amazing and we receive many compliments. Bill was amazing with designing the Planter boxes and making sure all the work was done properly and that we were pleased. So glad to have a cedar deck with composite floors, aluminum rail system, privacy glass and a gate. The gate is amazing, prevents our small dog from escaping and will protect our future grand children’s from falls. Plus it gives us extra security on the 2nd level of our house, it locks!

Bildam put in a new deck for us where there had previously never been one. What we liked best about Bildam was the detail in which they quote their services. Adam is EXTREMELY thorough and transparent. They were up front about the start time delays because of the rain and maintained their customers priority sequence. They also completed the work in the time they said they would, did not leave materials behind, were neat and organized throughout the job, and were extremely knowledgeable on codes. There were literally no surprises. When a lattice didn’t come out the way everyone had planned they adjusted make it right without delay or discussion. We have really enjoyed our deck as it’s given us use of a major part of our yard we never used to set foot in. We also have had three other major Reno’s done my three other companies. Bildam was the only one who didn’t bump us for other clients, finishes when they said they would, were completely transparent and up front about pricing, and didn’t cause any damage while doing the work. I could not recommend them more highly. They are not most expensive, and they are not the cheapest, but they were the best.

I first met with Adam back in February. I was immediately impressed with his attitude and knowledge of decking products. Bildam’s quote was comparable with the others that I had met with.

Through the entire process Adam was my main contact. During the design stage he was very patient with us as we struggled to pick the right colour for our deck. He was also helpful with ideas and recommendations.

Several years ago I bought a beautiful century home in Oshawa that had a door from the back bedroom on the second floor leading outside, problem was that the original deck from the 20’s was no longer there! so anyone walking out the door would have a rude awakening as they would’ve fell about 14 feet down.

I have extensive experience in renovations myself but I wanted to get someone who would dig and pour the post footing and build the basic frame of the structure and leave me to finish off the decking and railings.

From my experience in the past, most companies would not offer to do half the job, but Adam was great, he really became a time saver for me taking care of the permit paperwork and getting the job done properly and on time, leaving me time to work on other projects inside the house.

I am very happy with the work they did and highly recommend them for any renovations!

We had our basement finished by Bildam in October of 2014 and are still thrilled at the quality of the workmanship! We met with Adam on several occasions to go over and reconfigure plans and he was understanding, helpful and easy to work with. We had a bedroom, bathroom, and large living space put into our unfinished basement. Throughout the renovation, the entire Bilam Team were great to work with!

Over the course of 2 months, they were flexible, professional and worked to a high standard. We weren’t without issue, as is common in any renovation. At one point we changed our minds on the location of the wall sconces after they had been roughed in, the electrician changed the location without hesitation. They had to remove the basement window on several occasions to get the materials in, and reinstall it. In the end, we ended up with a better installed window than what was originally there at no extra cost to us. The drywall took a little longer than anticipated but that is because Bryan (who did the mud and taping) worked with precision which made the final product flawless! Slow and steady made for the best mud & tape job I have ever seen! Each little hiccup was treated with speed and a smile.

I think the quality of a contractor is in the men and woman with whom they work, and Bilam has an AMAZING Team!

We just moved into a new home, and Bildam was the first company we contacted to help us install a new kitchenette in the basement. You will not be disappointed if you hire this team!
